It was held last night at the peaceful spanish village of Aguilar del Campo the Prize Giving Ceremony of ARWS Bimbache Extreme Castilla León 2009. After the normal cumpliments to all the participants and race staff Geoff Hunt, the leader of the Adventure Racing World Series and Championship sealed with a handshake the commitment of helding the 2010 AR World Championship in the beautifull spanish province of Castilla León.
Geoff mentioned the important contribution of Bimbache Extreme over the years for the World Series and the fine quality of this year event, which for all athletes was the best edition ever, being this recognition a tribute to the effort of the organizing team lead by António de La Rosa over the past years. For Iberian adventure racers, this was an expected announcement which reflects the development that AR has experienced over the past years with both countries Portugal and Spain cooperating and developing high standard national series and championships.
To the Portuguese ARWC organizing committee this announcement reinforces the confidence and responsibility for the November\'s World Championship and elevates the notoriety of the Iberian Peninsula as the World finest playground for Adventure Racing.
The ARWC Portugal 2009 organizing committee was represented in Spain by the Championship Director, Alexandre Guedes da Silva, by the Public Relation and Sponsoring, Paulo Pinho, by the Technical Director, Frederico Tiago, by the Marketing Director of Pinus Verde-ADXTUR, Bruno Ramos and by Catarina Almeida, a Tourism Expert.
